−FORMATH KOBE 2007 INTERNATIONAL−

Dear Colleagues
     The FORMATH research group is voluntarily established in March, 2001 among those who have an interest in forest resource management and mathematical modeling. After the first symposium took place at Nagoya University in 2001, five symposia were held in Tokyo, Tsukuba, Nagoya, Kyoto and Fukuoka. This time, we are glad to announce that FORMATH KOBE 2007 International will be held as the 7-th symposium in Kobe with the great support from University of Hyogo. With the main theme of "Forest Resource Management & Mathematical Modeling", the objective of the FORMATH symposium is to invite researchers, practioners and other related individuals in this field in order to exchange ideas, methodologies and information of their own.
     As was the case in the last symposia, instead of focusing on one topic of the symposium, we welcome a wide variety of research presentation in this field, including topics in forest planning, forest ecology, watershed preservation, carbon issues, forest economics and others. We look forward to meeting you all at FORMATH KOBE 2007 International. Please note that we will publish the outcome of the symposium as the 7-th volume of FORMATH book by organizing editorial team.

−FORMATH KOBE 2007 INTERNATIONAL−

FORMATH研究会参画の皆様へ
    「森林資源管理と数理モデル」研究集会は、 2001年３月名古屋大学でのシンポジウムを皮切りに発足した自発的な集会で、 今回が第７回目のシンポジウムとなります。 本研究集会では「森林資源管理と数理モデル」をメインテーマとし、今後の森林資源管理の研究展開を狙い、 研究者と実務者、あるいは森林管理に関心のある方々と意見交換の場を設定することを目的としています。
    今回のシンポジウムにつきましても、これまでのシンポジウム同様、 特に細かいテーマを設定せず、森林計画、森林生態、水土保全、炭素循環、森林経済など多様な分野からの研究発表の構成を考えています。 このような趣旨をご理解の上、第７回シンポジウムへの多数の方々のご参画をお待ち申し上げます。 なお、発表論文につきましては、研究集会内で別途編集審査委員会を設定し、 「森林資源管理と数理モデルVol.7」として冊子を販売する予定にしております。
